In the past 6 years we have been here almost 100 time, per Yelp check in count, and its time for a refresh of my original review. This is still my go-to BBQ place, and we come here with regularity. It has the winning combination of great food, good prices, and nice people that keeps us coming back. Over the years my favorites have evolved into a "Best Of" list. Here it is:
Do NOT miss these:
- Cajun Gumbo (get a full bowl and its a Lunch)
- Cajun fries and Onion String sides (But remember they don't travel well)
- Back Ribs. A half slab is plenty since you get 2 sides. Or split a full slab with your partner.
- Potato Salad. This is a really under appreciated item.
- Rib Tip Platter. For the unafraid of being messy, this is a must do.
- Pulled Pork - either a sandwich or the platter.
- The Cajun Sausage sandwich (or double the meat with the platter).
- The Cajun Burger
- The BBQ 1/2 Chicken (Its a special on Wednesdays, too)
The folks who deliver the food and clear the tables are veterans who do their jobs with exceptional proficiency. Be sure to tip them.
So, are there some "Meh" items? Well, its personal opinion, but the Baked Bean side seems just OK, the Cole Slaw is fine but the side order seems skimpy for $3. The Brisket is sometimes a bit dry. -

I had a pulled pork sandwich yesterday and it was beyond disappointing. It tasted as if it had been around for days and had been reheated several times. Tasted old. The beans appeared to be just a can of pork and beans that they had added a few things to them.
My friend had a salad and was happy with her meal.
The restaurant was nice and clean. -

Placed a order on the phone last night for pickup. Asked for extra bread. Got to the restaurant. Had the guy repeat my order to me, get home and then items are missing.
I understand that sometimes things happen but i didn't receive a apology, nor did any of the employees make eye contact with me or say welcome or sorry when I came back to the store. Very poor service.
In regards to the food. I ordered The half slab and burnt ends with a baked potato and Mac and cheese. The Slab was a bit tough to tear, but The flavor was definitely there. The burnt ends were delicious and juicy.
Baked potato is a baked potato and the Mac and cheese was delicious. Had panko in The to go container and it served as a nice crunch with the creaminess of the pasta.
This place is decent, but the service needs a improvement. At least a easy sorry when it's your fault that you forgot items for a order. -

My best friend and I love bbq and literally crave this place. My SO who lived in Texas for 20+ years and is decidedly picky about bbq loves it. That wonderful smell when you walk in.
I've had the beef and pork ribs, the pulled pork and the bbq chicken. Always spot on. Could eat the cornbread every day. Worth the trip for me
